i was flipping though ‘the year with grandma moses’ today, a book i picked up in the children’s section of the library. i had rented it a long long time ago for a girl scout project and it’s what made me first fall in love with her beautiful paintings. i’m still so desperately entranced by her portrayal of the rural farm life, with it’s blue hills and flowering pastures and thunderstorms. i just want to step inside them.
